Biography

Fatima Sadihovna Ilskaya [12/31/1902, Orenburg – 11/15/1984, Kazan], was a Tatar actress and People's Artist of the RSFSR (1967). In 1915, she began her stage career in the Orenburg Tatar drama troupe "Shirkat." In 1916, she was an actress in the troupe, “Sayar.” From 1921 to 1923, she was an actress at the Tatar theater in Tashkent. In 1923, she was at the Kamal Tatar theater in Kazan. Ilskaya, as one of the founders of national performing arts, creatively embraced traditions of the Tatar theater. Some of her roles were: Dilbar ("No Wind" by Tinchurin), Zuleikha ("Young Life" by Kulakhmetov), Fatima ("Song of Life" by Amir), Katerina ("Thunderstorm" by Ostrovsky), Tatiana and Sophia ("Enemies", "Recent" by Gorky) Tanya ("Tanya" by Arbuzov), etc. She performed also in the tragedies of William Shakespeare and comedies of Lope de Vega and P. Beaumarchais. She was awarded four medals and awards. She was buried in Kazan.
