On May, 21st employees of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan participated in solemnly celebrating of 85th anniversary of the writer, the poet, the journalist and teacher Samat Shakir (1924-1998) in his native land in the village Kubyan in the Atninsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan.

On May, 21st, 2009 at the information-bibliographic department of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan spent Information Day featuring «The organization and realization of the national holidays of the people living in the Republic of Tatarstan: customs and traditions».

On May, 20th, 2009 employees of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan have been invited to the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan to the presentation of exhibition «The history of Yusupov princes’ family.

On May, 18th, 2009 at the gymnasium № 10 of Kazan (Kopylov St., 11) employees of department of periodicals of the National library of Tatarstan organized the review of magazines and newspapers from funds of the library for pupils of 8 – 11 classes.

On May, 16th, 2009 at the department of periodicals of the National library of Tatarstan (K.Marx St., 36) a presentation devoted to the Day of Slavonic writing took place.

In the showroom of the National library of Tatarstan (Kremlevskaya str, 33) the exhibition-panorama of the professional literature for librarians «Modern library: development tendencies» has opened.

On May, 15th, 2009 at the department of arts of the National library of Tatarstan (Teatralnaya St., 5) the Open door day for teachers of music and fine arts of the Republic has passed with great success.

From 11th to31st May at the German reading room attached to the Department of Literature in Foreign Languages there will pass an exhibition «Football – our life!» within the limits of Year of sports and the healthy way of life declared at the Republic of Tatarstan in 2009.
