In 2012, Russia will celebrate the 200th anniversary of its victory in the Patriotic War of 1812.
In this war, the people of Russia defended the honor, dignity and national freedom of our country. It clearly manifested the patriotism of the people, their courage and dedication. The war stirred the broadest segments of society, from generals and noblemen to serfs. In Russian history, there are many examples where women are equal to men, using arms to defend Russia against enemy hordes.
The electronic directory, "Our Countrymen in the War of 1812, Female-Trooper Nadezhda Durova," consists of eleven chapters. It contains information about the Kazan region during the Patriotic War in 1812, materials about the life and work of Durova (biography, autobiography, articles about her life and work, her works, correspondence with A. Pushkin, and a script devoted her bibliography).
A section is devoted to the museum of N. Durova and Yelabuga, which contains information about Yelabuga and the life of N. Durova.
