The portal «National Electronic Library of the Republic of Tatarstan»

The portal, "The National Electronic Library of the Republic of Tatarstan," provides access to information-library services based on the collections of the popular libraries of Tatarstan. It is a uniform opportunity to access the resources of the libraries of the republic in three languages: Russian, Tatar, and English.

The basic services of the portal are:

• Access to the summary electronic catalogue of republican and municipal libraries of the Republic of Tatarstan;
• Document orders for chosen libraries;
• Access granting to full texted electronic collection;
• «Ask a Librarian» help service;
• Interlibrary loan service;
• The information about each participating library of joint electronic catalogue of the Republic of Tatarstan;
• The information for specialists of library deal involved in mastery process of "Ruslan" automated library information system.

On the "E-book" page there is a collection of electronic copies of books presented from the collection of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan.

On the page, “Ask a Librarian,” it is possible to ask a question about the presence of documents concerning a certain subject or to ask for suggestions to select information to find a publication.

Registered users have access to additional services. A registered user, after finding a document in the summary catalogue, can proceed to order the document, from the library where it was found. To do this one should enter the user-name and password which they have been given at their library. In the private office it is possible to save search results of literature found by the registered user.

The portal and services will develop stage by stage. We will increase the quantity of libraries participating in the project by four libraries in 2010. Improvements will be made to the portal for information-library services.
