Board of Guardians

The 135th anniversary of the National Library included an important event. The Cabinet of the Republic of Tatarstan made a decision to form (from 4/6/2000) a board of guardians. Its purpose is to assist the development of information resources and the effective functioning of the activity of the National Library, and to increase its role in the political, cultural, aesthetic, spiritual and moral life of the Republic.

Those active on the advisory board include directors of scientific organizations, educational institutions, state officials, and directors of enterprises, organizations and commercial structures. Head advisor, Razil Ismagilovich Valeev, is chairman for the Continual Commission of Science, Formation, Culture and Ethnic Questions, and a member of the Presidium for the State Advisory Council of the Republic of Tatarstan.
