The first meeting and official opening of “First English” Children Club was held on October 8, 2011 at the American Center in Kazan. Children of 4-6 years, including children of alumni, took part at the sitting. Fulbright FLTA Program alumnus Aygul Ayupova (Fatykhova) will teach English through art and creativity this season.
From the first till last minutes of the meeting children acquired new skills of communication in non-native language with enthusiasm and passion and pulled into creative work. Each little participant had his own place at children round table and made the first page for “My first English book”.
The popular English children dance song Hokey Pokey fascinated and enchanted kids. Children repeated lively movements and words after the teachers. At the end of the meeting kids made themselves finger toys using prepared blanks, and then consolidated the first communication skills through theatre method. The lesson gave new knowledge of first words in English, and children could say their names, welcome and say goodbye to each other. Children and parents had a great time and enjoyed meeting very much.
