On September 5th, 2009 at the American Center of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan has passed a fascinating meeting with American cyclists Ellery Althaus and Levi Bridges. They make unique travel –cycling from Vladivostok to Portugal! The travel lasts six months already. One of the trip purposes is propagation of alternative energy sources.
Leaving behind 9 000 km, they have seen a lot of Russian cities: Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Blagoveshchensk, Chita, Ulan-Ude, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg, Perm, etc. They stopped in cities, got acquainted with local residents, saw sights, held meetings at the American Centers, and shared impressions.
In our city they held Discussion Club and showed photos on the big screen. Ellery and Levi looked round Kazan within four days and admitted that they «… have been blinded by magnificence». We wished them good luck and saw cyclists off.
