«Traditional national culture of the Tatar people: problems of preservation and translation in the conditions of public library»

On September, 18th, 2009 at the National library of the Republic of Tatarstan the seminar «Traditional national culture of the Tatar people: problems of preservation and translation in the conditions of public library» has passed. Library workers serving the Tatar population in regions of Russian Federation participated in it.

The Chairman of the constant Commission of State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on a science, education, culture and ethnic questions Valeev Razil Ismagilovich told about problems of development of the Tatar culture.

Forms and methods of library work on development of national culture, possibility of acquisition of libraries of the Russian Federation and the CIS by the Tatar and literature of regional studies through the National library of the Republic of Tatarstan were discussed.

The information centre on culture and art of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan has presented an exhibition of the literature, informational-reference and methodical editions of traditions, customs, holidays, genealogy the Tatar people. The separate block had been presented scenario materials on carrying out of the Tatar holidays.

Listeners of a seminar have shown a great interest to use of an information technology in propagation of traditions, ceremonies, holidays and cultures of the Tatar people.

The extensive material, devoted to the Tatar culture, has been shown on pages of web-site of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russian and Tatar languages.
