The Nature of the Tatarstan: rivers and lakes

A book exhibition "The Nature of Tatarstan: rivers and lakes" is presented in the Grand Reading Room of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan (ul. Kremlevskaya, d. 33) during the March, 2016. The exhibition is organized within the the Year of the Water Protection Zones in the Republic of Tatarstan, announced by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, and timed to coincide with World Water Day on March, 22.

Books from the exposition cover the topical issues of the usage of natural resources and environmental protection of the Republic of Tatarstan in terms of modern economic realities, achievements of science and tried and tested technologies. Particular interest of readers is produced by colorful albums with the views of conservation areas and book about the lakes of Kazan.

For the professionals, the exhibition presents information bulletins on the status of the surface water bodies, water management systems and structures on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The exhibition is designed for a wide range of readers and will last until the end of March 2016.

World Water Day is celebrated in many countries since 1993 on the initiative of UNESCO and the International Water Supply Association.
