To the International Dance Day

From 21 through 30 of April, 2016 the Department of Arts of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan (ul. Teatralnaya, d. 5) in the framework of the "Calendar of significant and memorable dates of the Arts" offers to the visitors a selection of documents to the International Dance Day, which is celebrated on April, 29.

The exhibition consists of three sections.

The first section provides educational tools on the theory and technique of teaching of the outstanding teachers of the Soviet ballet (A.Y. Vaganova, A.M. Messerer et al.) and modern dance instructors from Kazan (M.V. Usanova, V.N. Gorshkova et al.). Books of this section are introducing the readers with the basics of the art of dance and specific programs of classical dance courses, with the art of ballet-mistresses.

The next section presents the literature on antique choreography, carnivals of Middle Ages, European ballet, the reforms of great choreographers, famous dancers. Displayed at the exhibition multimedia edition of the series "Legends of the Ballet" will give an opportunity to see the dance of the masters of the art of ballet.

A dance is not only a universal language, a way of expression, but also a super-efficient form of fitness. The tutorials of dances funk, waltz, Sambo, Tango, located in the third section of the exhibition, will help to learn how to dance. Here are presented the multimedia editions from the series "Learning to dance", "Dance Aerobics", "Oriental dance", "Indian dance".

The exhibition is addressed to the students of ballet schools, dance teachers and to everyone who are interested in the technology and history of art of the dance and choreography.
