From May 1 to 31, 2016 Department of Arts of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan (ul. Teatralnaya, d. 5) under the "Calendar of significant and memorable dates of the Arts" offers the visitors a selection of documents to the 170th anniversary of the birth of Carl Faberge.
Peter Carl Gustavovich Faberge (May 30, 1846, St. Petersburg - September 24, 1920, Lausanne) - famous Russian jeweler, creator of the Faberge eggs, which are highly prized by collectors around the world. Was the head of the family firm and dynasty masters of jewelry art.
Particularly vividly the figure of Carl Faberge is revealed in the book presented at the exhibition "Faberge and jewelers of Petersburg". Many facts in this book are articulated for the first time and based on hitherto unknown archival materials. Colorful albums show creations of Carl Faberge, which surprised the world at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and continues to keep an unflagging interest among our contemporaries. Particularly noteworthy are the reprints of 1893 and 1902 "Listings of products of Moscow branch of the firm of Faberge".
The exhibition is addressed to professionals and everyone interested in the art of jewelry.
