Book Festival "Red Square"

On June, 3 to June, 6 a Book Festival "Red Square" was held in Moscow. National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan presented relevant and interesting books on local history that were printed at own publishing house "Milli Kitap" and at other publishing houses of Kazan.

For 4 days the Red Square turned into a Book capital of Russia, having gathered circa 400 Russian publishing houses including 50 regional, in the area from the State Historical Museum to the Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed. National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan participates in this ambitious project for the second year in a row. In 2015 the Library took part in the work of the interactive site "The Library" and had told about the conservation and dissemination of the Tatar books, in 2016 the library staff were located at the territory of the site "Regions of Russia". The mission of the regional pavilion is to introduce the readers with a surprisingly diverse and original literature and publishing business.

A significant event of the participation of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan at the festival became the meeting of the Director of the Library S.R. Ziganshina with the Chairman of the Russian Government D.A. Medvedev. As a gift a commemorative book-album "National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan" which was published in 2015 in the "Tatar book publishing house" for the 150th anniversary of the National Library of Tatarstan was handed over to Dmitry Medvedev.
