On September 24, 2011 a group of local USG alumni community took part in art therapy training “Colors of autumn” in the frame of art workshop program. Art therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy for self-exploration and understanding. Art therapy is effective for people of any age.

The training program began with media therapy presentation that included introduction to color, color birth as art meaning and expressiveness, impact of autumn tints on mood and well-being, color therapy with breathing practice. All participants had an art therapy practical work and then consolidated their new experience. No one participant did have any special and previous experience in drawing. But all group painted in bright colors using different art materials (water-colors, markers, color chalk, pencils, and pens, etc.). The participants spared no colors to transfer their emotions and feelings on paper.

The training was provided by qualified Art Therapist Marianna Gerasimova. She practices in this field at the Institute of Complementary Professional Education as psychologist and certified supervisor of Co-authorship resonance methods. The training was hold at the American Center (36, K. Marks str.).
