On October 7, 2016 in the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan a methodological workshop for the heads of Centralized Library System and Methodological Departments was held. The training program was organized by Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Institute for further education for cultural workers.
On October 6, 2016 in a café theatre of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kremlevskaya street, 33) an evening of Tatar composer, pianist, teacher and the author of the National Anthem of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Yahin (1921-1993) was held.
On October 5, the officials of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan visited the House-museum of Vasily Aksyonov. The reason for meeting was set out by the research work of the library staff, which resulted in the discovery of a historical artefact.

The project “BiblioRodina” (“BiblioHomeland”) was recently launched in Russia. This project is aimed at providing support to libraries all over the country as well as reviving the status of libraries as the cultural and scientific centres, attracting readers and popularization of scientific knowledge, rendering assistance for popular science editions under the condition of funding shortfall.
On October 4, 2016 the officials of the Periodicals Department of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan organized a lecture titled “Diverse world of periodicals” for the 5th grade students of the gymnasium № 8 of the Sovetsky City District.
On September 29, 2016 the officials of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan participated in a workshop called “Sociocultural planning as the basis of innovative library development” that was held in Centralized Library System of Pestrechinsky District.
The Department of Exhibitions and Cultural Affairs of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan hosts an exhibition titled “Honoring the Past for Future Generations”. The exhibition is dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions, which is annually commemorated on October 30.
On September 29, 2016 the Information-Bibliographic Department of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan, Kremlevskaya str., 33) held an Information Day for tour guides of Training centre for further education Comfest.
On October 1, 1609 the Poles settled into a long siege of Smolensk during the Polish–Muscovite War. It was a heroic defense of Russian nation against the barbaric invasion of the Poles.
